Sofreh Salamati

Sofreh Salamati is a novel public health intervention designed specifically to promote the wellbeing of Afghan women. We aim to create a culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, and community-led platform where we can unite to learn, support each other, and empower ourselves to take control of our health and well-being.

We gather once a month online or in-person to pray and learn about various healthcare topics from Afghan women health professionals. These sessions will be entirely in Dari and will provide an opportunity to connect with other fellow Afghan women. We aim to create a supportive community and foster long-lasting friendships among Afghan women.

We aim to cover a wide range of topics relevant to our health, including reproductive health, chronic disease management, managing stress, and navigating the American healthcare system – whatever you and the group would like for us to focus on.

We believe that by coming together as a community and using some of the tools we already have in our culture, we can overcome the barriers that have hindered our access to healthcare in the past.

We encourage you to invite other fellow Afghan women. Together, let's create a supportive network that empowers us all.

To sign up for this event, join our WhatsApp group and receive announcements and Zoom login information before the event.

Note: We are pleased to announce that the first *30* individuals who confirm their attendance will receive a gift card for their participation.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at Sofreh Salamati.
