Services

We are a team of Afghan health professionals, students, and health researchers. We offer a variety of services to support your organization’s needs.

  • Health Presentations

We have hosted culturally sensitive, language concordant presentations and webinars on a variety of health topics (see past events here). We have also created YouTube video presentations, which we can adopt to a live interactive presentation (see our health resources here). All of our presentations are created and presented by Afghan health professionals and trainees who are able to English, Dari, and Pashto. If your organization is interested in hosting a health-centered event or presentation, please contact us. We are able to adapt and create presentations to your needs.

  • Interpretation/Translation

We have team members who are Afghan refugees able to fluently speak, read, and write English and Dari or Pashto. Our team is experienced in interpreting English documents to be both linguistically and culturally sensitive to the general population of Afghan immigrants, and tailoring materials to at or below a sixth-grade reading level (as recommended by the American Medical Association [AMA]). We also review materials already interpreted in Pashto or Dari to verify translations and ensure cultural sensitivity and accessibility to Afghans. If your organization is in need of interpretation or translation services, please contact us.

  • Research

Our team includes experienced researchers with graduate training from institutions including UCSF, UC Berkeley, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins. We have both research and expertise in research promoting health equity with a particular focus on immigrant health, community-based participatory research, intervention, and sexual and reproductive health. If you are interested in collaborating on a research project or would like our support with ongoing projects, please contact us.
